A mountain escape: Silvermine

At times, during the peak of our summer sou’easterly winds we head to our favoured, sheltered nooks in the mountain.  At lower levels it can be sublime.  At higher altitudes an engaging action of turmoil, as earth-warmed air rises to greet the cooler mountain tops, a meteorological drama unfolds.

Looking towards the back of Table Mountain and Devil's Peak, the water of the Silvermine dam lies tucked in a secluded fold of mountain.

Track-to-heaven

The roiling elements, bring to mind Macbeth’s witches around their bubbling, hubbling cauldron.
