WPC: The Hue of You

For a while the sea played a major role in my life, it’s colours ingrained in a daily routine. Since returning to live ashore, I’ve gradually learned to let go of hankering for it’s shades of blue. I find now a richness in earth tones, the spell the sun’s rays can cast against the sandstone rocks, or a burnished copper reflected in the veld in the late afternoon. Colours like umber, burnt sienna or ochre reveal ancient codes, of stories written in the stones. A realm that is filled with substance, so different from the ethereal blue world of the seas.

  1. Nice shots, Liz and what a lovely write-up! Such a unique perspective this is. It’s all about being able to see things that so often go unnoticed.
