They come in such variety! But now with ocean acidification, what happens next, if the shells become ever more friable?
That’s not a thought either of us wants to contemplate… Too frightening
I was recently given a sand dollar shell. I’d never seen one before. It seems so fragile. I loved the way each one has a flower on it.
Aren’t they special! We also get a ‘pansy’ shell here which is flatter. Also a sand dweller. I like their flower patterns, and that connection/ reference to their land cousins.
