As the old year closes out the WP photo challenge this week is to think ahead – “the goal is to get out of the busy ‘now’ and imagine your New horizon….
Here it is, a representative view – a broad horizon beckoning with the hope of a new dawn. It’s not quite visible, this occluded horizon. The details are murky, not yet within grasp. This past year i intended to change the look and the format of my blog but I got sidetracked, bogged down by having go beyond the familiar.
“Sketch”, the theme i use has a Portfolio feature and i see this as a useful way of compiling and managing current photo collections. My aim for the new year is to get on with it by developing the theme’s potential and achieving a “new look”.
An evocative image that indeed holds the promise of something new that is still tantalizingly out of reach.
Thanks Anne, and spot on with the tantalizing reach 🙂
This is such a beautiful capture Liz! And good luck with the portfolio feature:)
Thanks Inger … arghhh, going nuts fiddling with the portfolio projects.
A beautiful view and I am intrigued by the portfolio features and how you will use them, I think my blog has the facility too but I have no idea how to use it!
Thanks Jude. Still grappling with the portfolio projects and how to set up and assign the subject matter in an overarching hierachy! The grey matter is buzzing….
Gorgeous image, Liz. I’ll look forward to seeing your new look.
Thanks Eliza … watch this space! Making slow progress.
Great shot Liz!
Thanks Chris ….. hope we see you this season?
Beautiful shot! Where was it taken?
Veldrif and the Berg River waterway. Love this place for it’s birds and mudflats and the ever changing play of light on water… and of course that far horizon 🙂
Love the haze/fog on the horizon Liz, perfect for the week’s challenge. I just revamped the look of my blog and had also been putting it off for some time. It does take some time and focus so be sure not to rush it! Good luck
Thanks for the comments Tina. I enjoyed your post, The Broad Horizons and the travel concept. Useful advise too on revamping websites. I had a look at your Photoshelter portfolios and galleries. Wonderful body of work there. Also watched the short video on Kiawah and Charleston. Well, i could hop on the next plane and visit. Hope your work features on the the local tourism/travel network.
A wonderful photo Liz. Look forward to your “new look”. Best wishes for the holiday season 🙂
Thanks Andrew for your kind wishes and the comment. May you too have a wonderful festive season.
Magical!
