Top Shell - Diloma variegata
Showing the iridescent inner aperture. Diloma variegata belong to the Top Shell family (Tochidae). Grazes on a diet of algae. The adults move up-shore away from predators such as starfish and whelks. Found in the intertidal zone on rocky shores.
