That focused attention is so admirable! I once observed a heron in a fishing spot not having any luck. It plucked a soft feather from it’s breast and used it as a lure. Within moments it had speared a fish. Smart creatures!
Glad to know this elegant species has a widespread cosmopolitan range :). ‘Great Blue’ sounds descriptively impressive. The ‘greys’ with neck stretched long, attain a height of about a metre. But even more surprising is the distinguished looking ‘Goliath’ – maybe a bit ponderous in flight but what bird!
Interesting – I didn’t know that their range extended that far. We have them here in the UK too but they look a little less polished. Slightly lighter in plumage.
One of my favourite birds. I get so much pleasure from your photography. Well done
Their patience is endless – we can learn a lot from them.

THAT is fascinating to learn!
My favourite birds too. They are so elegant and focused.
He looks very much like what we call a “Great Blue Heron” in Ontario, Canada.

So beautiful! We see a lot here, but they never lose their magic. 🙂 🙂
Take good care of yourself and loved ones. Thanks for your visit.
