The Common Dotted Border butterfly (Mylothris agathina) is a welcome visitor to coastal gardens here in Cape Town. It’s an elegant species with a graceful jizz, floating through the air using gentle wing beats. Also known as the Eastern Dotted Border for it’s distribution in east and southern African regions, it’s range has gradually spread westward around the coast and northwards to the area beyond Saldanha.
Beautiful!
Thanks Sue 🙂

Thanks Anne. Happy that the butterfly obliged for the portrait. Such skittish critters!
