Since my post on the first flying lessons, two weeks ago, the three wagtail fledglings have become competent little aerialists, flitting around the garden and over the wall and into the big world yonder. It appears that the parents are satisfied with their performance and also their ability to secure their own meals. New tidings … looks as though there could be another brood to be hatched as the parent birds wing in with bits of twig etc …. watch this space!
These are wonderful. How great to be able to watch them grow up.
Yes, they’re a continuing delight. They really add magic to the activity in the backyard.
They have been busy havent they!
Yep, looks like they’re on a bit of a roll… They brighten up our day with their sweetest of “tweets”. 🙂
Lovely to be able to follow their progress, undisturbed by marauding cats (I hope)…
Fortunately there are no domestic cats in the immediate vicinity, although there are the feral variety. Biggest threat are the pied crows which patrol the skies mercilessly. Luckily there is good tree and shrub cover. So far so good 🙂
Wow! It must be a wonderful experience to see them grow up from so close. Really looking forward to seeing the next brood to be hatched. Thanks for bringing to us these pictures, Liz:)
Thanks Uday…. it’s a delight to have them flitting in and out of the garden. Love their chatter and tweets.
