It would be an opportunity for me, were I the driver. To meet a baboon? That’s an opportunity I’d not want to miss – provided our interaction doesn’t harm the little creature short- or long-term.
Hi Sid, I wish it was that straightforward, this conundrum of wild v. semi tame. It’s true that many of the baboons have lost their fear of people, but unfortunately usually it ends up to their detriment. They definitely pick up on a person’s ‘vibe’ though. Staying calm and not panicking usually ends in a peaceful encounter, but such close proximity is not really encouraged….

It’s amusing, and they (the baboons) are very agile and look at the way the hold on.
Amazingly agile, they walk up walls like spider man! And they’re dextrous too, strong fingers..
