The storm started brewing in the late afternoon, and a strange festering atmosphere built up. Just managed to get a couple of shots as the sun broke through and then the rain came pelting down.
WPC: Refraction. Pop over to the Kevin’s challenge to see other examples of this week’s photos.
Lovely atmospheric photo – well captured.
But when I tried to look at “Kevin’s Challenge” – I failed to connect! This was the message “The server at http can’t be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website’s name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network” The only explanation which seems possible is the firewall. Why should this be the case??
Off to bed Mike
That’s weird as the link is the same as this one and I have checked that it works:

let’s see if this does!
Hi Mike, Thanks for dropping by. I checked the link and reset it. It should work now. The WP team come up with interesting photo challenges. It’s a good way to connect with the WP community too.
Anyway, link aside, lovely photo! I was going for a rainbow, but changed my mind 🙂 Yours is much better – moody, golden light.
What an unexpected surprise. Beautiful.
Yes, unexpected – and an experience of awe, how nature conspires in conjuring up such alchemy 🙂
Really gorgeous. 🙂
Fantastic capture! Exquisite!
Appreciate your comments, thanks Eliza.
What amazing golden light, is it something you often see there Liz?
It was quite an unusual lead up to a storm. Eerie too. The sun broke through the clouds and suffused the whole area – it was late afternoon, so a good angle. It didn’t last long, and I’m glad I had my camera ready, else the moment would have passed unrecorded.
Terrific Liz!
Gorgeous!
It’s a stunner!! 😉
Thanks AJ.
