Our changing world reflects in our expanding vocabulary. Which of these terms spring out at you?
“Plastiglomerate” is a new one for me, and is reinforced every time I walk on a beach and notice how much plastic flotsam / jetsam comes in on the tide.

What about “Trophic cascade” ? For a working definition try this link to see the effects of “How Wolves Change Rivers”.
It all sounds pretty horrendous. 😦
Yes, it does – and the terminology and the increasing vocabulary is scary… but sometimes that glimmer of hope comes up, like the link to the Yellowstone wolves…..
Fascinating links Liz and the Yellowstone one was beautiful.

Humans are definitely the most scary animal on the planet. God help us!
For sure!!! Though isn’t it heartening that every now and then there’s that glimmer of hope…. returning the Yellowstone wolves has had a remarkable beneficial impact on the environment.
It is heartening, we just need more examples and enough people to realize it. We will continue one step at a time.
After the terrifying plastic, I was glad to see the beneficial wolves!
Yes!! While we mess up the planet, isn’t it good to see that glimmer of hope when man makes good and can see the links in the chain.
