An active little critter, this is the larval stage of a Mountain White spot moth. Researching it’s identification, I came across the description – a “ginger fuzzy-wuzzy”. It transforms through pupation into a gorgeously couture’d furry moth.
Take a peek at the “Future” here.
Beautiful photo, transformation for the future!
Thanks Elizabeth.

Nice choice for the challenge, Liz.
If I have to be a moth in my next life I want to be that one!

What a wonderful shot. Excellent!
I’m glad you said what it was. What an unusual, beautiful shot! Looks like a Dr. Seuss character. 🙂

A Dr Seuss character fits the bill!
Wow, at first I thought it would a fuzzy seed head! What a beautiful and interesting creature. Great capture. 🙂
What a brilliant caterpillar portrait and such an apt description! I wonder if he gets hot in that fur coat?
This was one very active little critter with a voracious appetite and incredible athletic ability. It didn’t appear at all fazed by the heat of the day. There was quite an infestation of this species and they formed a very effective mobile munching machine.
