“Going about our day, we often don’t pay attention to what’s directly above us. We’re more likely to focus on what’s in front of us rather than what’s overhead. Or if you’re like me, what’s below us to avoid tripping over anything,” Nancy challenges us this week to take a moment to look up.
Here looking up into the trees and into a realm of avian delights was a small blackbird singing the sweetest of bird songs
“a realm of avian delights” I love that – and the blackbird song.
Thanks Ann Christine; been in your neck of the woods recently – too short though. Had a long weekend in Stockholm , enjoyed it, hope to be back!
Oh..how great! Would have been great to meet you, but I live in the very south end!
🙂 I echo Leya.
Thanks 🙂
Nice photo and thought – even your watermark is in equilibrium with the scene
Thanks Abrie.
I like that expression – avian delights
Has an element of elegance?!
It does indeed
I’ve been watching blackbirds feeding their babies through my window for a couple of weeks, they are a delight aren’t they?
That’s a treat, Gilly – nothing like watching those attentive little parents tending their young.
There’s nothing better than listening to a Blackbird singing on a summer evening; so much more languid and melifluous than other star-rated singers.
This week has been so beautiful and Spring like here in Switzerland. I am fortunate enough to be able to walk to work. It is a 50 minute walk and a part of it is through a little forest. The bird song has been such a lovely start to my day this week. Better than any formal meditation practice I have ever done. Thanks for sharing this post. I have just started a poetry blog here on WordPress in case you have time to have a look? Have a good evening, Sam 🙂
Have to agree that birdsong is inspiring and i enjoyed your poem very much. Glad that spring is on its way in Switzerland. Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂
Thank you and have a bright week ahead full of birdsong!
