Great photo!
Do you know the relationships of the baboons in the photo?
Male mate, female mate, child?
Older woman, younger woman (child?), grandchild.
Just curious!
This is mom with older child and baby – I would judge the juvenile to be about 2 years old and baby perhaps around 4 months old. The bonds between the siblings are usually close with older ‘sister’ very protective and diligent baby ‘minders’. I love the way the grooming is undertaken – with such care and attention 🙂
Great pose!
This photo is so expressive!
How’s that for bliss and relaxation?!
Like going to the spa, lol!
🙂 and that overall sense of well being. The social bonds within the hierarchy are also maintained.
The enjoyment is obvious!
One minute baboons can be fighting, the next they’re grooming and all is well 🙂
Neat! Easy life ahhh….
Got the priorities right!
Is that last times baby as well as the latest? They look very chilled 🙂
Yes that’s a good assumption, Gilly, the gap in age fits for the siblings. Generally mothers groom their own offspring.
so cute!
Isn’t great for a family portrait 🙂
yes it is!
