The above gallery of photos is in response to this week’s photo challenge : ” The golden hour” that first and last hour of the day when the quality of light has a magical cast. It is particularly effective for wildlife photography where the subjects can be captured in their most flattering colours.
🙂
Thanks E.
Love them! So cute how you named and ordered your photos. 🙂
Thanks! Their mornings are full of activity…. best time of day to watch their antics 🙂
They look a lot more organized than our household’s morning routine. 🙂
Beautiful! I love penguins, and they look fantastic in the low light 🙂
Thanks .. they’re quite difficult to photograph with the right exposure – that contrast between white and black. The low light definitely is the softer option.
I have the same problem with our dog, Wilson, he is black and pretty invisible in many photos, he looks his best at sunrise and sunset as he becomes lit up in lots of reflections of colour
Agree, that soft light is the best for bringing out the pixels 🙂
These are gorgeous photos
Thanks Nature!
Wonderful shots. So happy to see something other than a sunset 🙂
Thanks Tina 🙂
Wonderful gallery! It’s great that you interpreted the challenge by showing what happens during that golden time. 🙂
Thanks Angie 🙂
Oh Liz, you are presenting yet another outstanding collection of magical shots. The best interpretation of the theme I have seen so far. Excellent!
Have a lovely weekend. Big hug to you from North Norfolk
Dina
Hi Dina! And thanks as always for your encouraging comments. Hope you’re enjoying some sunshine there in North Norfolk 🙂
They’re too adorable!!!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jean. For pint-sized little creatures, they sure have character 🙂
Lovely shots, Liz! The light is indeed amazing!
Thanks Uday. Living here on the coast facing east, has it’s advantages… somehow i think the water plays a part in reflecting / refracting those early morning rays?

Duuuuuuuuude. These are very nice pics. Very!
awwww they’re so cute! 🙂
Thanks kz… they are cute 🙂 But also very precious… on the endangered list, their numbers reduce by the year.
Love those shots! Excellent photography and illustration of the importance of the quality of light on a high-contrast wildlife subject.
