Nearly two million children in South Africa are either orphaned or affected by the HIV/Aids pandemic. The shots here reflect a coming together of the community to share in the spirit of giving at this time of the year.

Oh Liz you’ve made me cry!
It’s a very sad story; the stats are harrowingly scary. The children pictured are cared for by an organisation where small family units are set up under the care of a foster mother. I really admire these women, many who are grandmothers who have come forward to take up the role of mothering.
So few words but your photos tell so many stories! Well done.
